Overgenerality of autobiographical memory refers to that individuals can＇t retrieve specific events or episodes in a given time point, but trend to retrieve generic and repeated events. The articles review this deficit of autobiographical memory in clinical researches, including the phenomenon of overgeneral memory in emotional and traumatic disorders; main research method of autobiographical memory--Autobiographical Memory Test; basic mechanisms underlying on overgenerality in clinical patients; and limitation of current researches. |
