Correlation of posttraumatic growth and stress disorder in middle school students in 4 years after Wenchuan earthquake

目的考察汶川地震4年后重灾区中学生创伤后成长与创伤后应激障碍症状的关系。方法采用创伤后成长量表(PTGI-R)和事件影响量表(IES-R)对北川和茂县4所中学共1 700位学生进行问卷调查。结果创伤后应激障碍症状女生高于男生(P<0.01),高中生高于初中生(P<0.01),创伤后成长在性别和初高中生之间均无统计学差异(P>0.05);初高中分别有2组典型因素达到统计学差异[初中:第1典型相关系数为0.338(P<0.01), 第2组典型相关系数为0.207(P<0.01);高中:第1组典型相关系数为0.252(P<0.01),第2组典型相关系数为0.155(P<0.05)];IES中唤醒和侵扰2个因子对PTGI有影响。结论地震4年后重灾区中学生创伤后成长与创伤后应激障碍症状之间仅存在低度相关,两者不能彼此预测。 |

Objective To investigate the relationship between posttraumatic growth (PTG) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms in middle school students from disaster area in 4 years after the Wenchuan earthquake. Methods Posttraumatic growth inventory (PTGI-R) and impact of event scale (IES-R) were used to investigate 1 700 students from 4 middle schools in Beichuan and Maoxian counties. Results The symptoms of PTSD were heavier in girls than in boys (P<0.01) and were also heavier in senior high school students than in junior high school students (P<0.01). There was no significant gender and grade difference in PTG of the students. Two sets of canonical correlation variables reached statistical significance levels [junior high school: the first canonical correlation coefficient 0.338 (P<0.01) and the second canonical correlation coefficient 0.207 (P<0.01); senior high school: the first canonical correlation coefficient 0.252 (P<0.01) and the second canonical correlation coefficient 0.155 (P<0.05)]. Arousal and intrusion of IES had influences on PTGI. Conclusion There is only low correlation between PTG and PTSD symptoms in middle school students from disaster area in 4 years after the Wenchuan earthquake, which cannot be predicted with each other. |
