Objective: To explore the intergenerational transmission effect of fathers’self-control and adolescent’s self-control and the mediating role of paternal anxiety and parental psychological control. Methods: A total of 338 adolescents were recruited and completed the Self-Control Scale and Parental Psychological Control Scale; Fathers of 338 adolescents were completed the Self-Control Scale (brief version) and Generalized Anxiety Scale. Results: ①Correlation analysis showed that there was a significant positive correlation between father’s self-control level and adolescent’s self-control level; Fathers’self-control level was negatively correlated with paternal anxiety and parental psychological control. ②The structural equation model showed that there was an intergenerational transmission effect of self-control level among adolescents, and an indirect effect was generated through the chain mediating effect of paternal anxiety and parental psychological control. Conclusion: The paternal anxiety and parental psychological control exert multiple mediating effects on the intergenerational transmission effect of self-control level. |
